What causes a muffled voice?

Common causes of mute voice include laryngitis, vocal cord nodule, vocal fold laryngeal cancer and so on. 1. Laryngitis: due to virus, bacterial invasion or excessive use of voice and other factors to stimulate the laryngeal mucous membrane congestion and edema inflammatory reaction, causing the patient’s vocal folds to close incompletely, and then appearing mute voice and other symptoms. 2. Vocal cord nodule: due to long time singing and talking, improper and excessive use of voice will stimulate the vocal cord to harden and eventually form nodular hyperplasia, leading to incomplete closure of the vocal cord and causing mute voice. 3. Vocal fold type laryngeal cancer: Vocal fold type laryngeal tumor may grow partly on the vocal folds, and the patient will have the symptom of mute voice. If the patient has the symptom of mute voice, he/she should consult a doctor in time for examination to clarify the cause of the disease and carry out targeted treatment.
