Can breast ultrasound misdiagnose

It is possible to misdiagnose a breast ultrasound, but it is less likely. If the patient is not sure about the results, he or she can have a follow-up examination.
Breast ultrasound, as a more commonly used clinical examination of breast disease, is still relatively accurate, and the possibility of misdiagnosis is not large.
However, breast ultrasound is not perfect, with the degree of accuracy of the equipment, the doctor’s level of operation, the depth of the patient’s lesion location, the degree of cooperation, there is a certain rate of misdiagnosis and omission of diagnosis exists.
If patients have doubts about the results of breast ultrasound, they can go to the hospital for a review and re-diagnosis. Especially for some malignant lesions, pathologic examination is the gold standard.
In the suspected stage of the disease, patients do not need to be too nervous, follow the doctor’s instructions to carry out relevant examinations, and take appropriate treatment measures after diagnosis.
