Unconscious shaking of the index finger may be associated with physiologic factors or may be caused by diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, hypocalcemia, and idiopathic tremor.
1. Physiological factors
(1) Excessive fatigue: Prolonged heavy physical labor or strong pressure on the fingers can lead to muscle spasms and twitching of the fingers, resulting in unconscious shaking.
(2) Mental factors: nervousness and anxiety may also lead to some physical symptoms, such as unconscious shaking of the index finger.
2. Pathological factors
(1) Parkinson’s disease: its main symptoms include bradykinesia, muscle tonus and resting tremor, which can be manifested as unconscious shaking of the index finger.
(2) Hypocalcemia: Due to the serious lack of calcium in the body, the calcium level in the blood is too low, resulting in the increase of muscle nerve excitability, which may cause finger tremor, and may be accompanied by tingling sensation in the fingers and toes and other symptoms.
(3) idiopathic tremor: this disease is a movement disorder, and the typical symptom of patients is that one part of the body cannot shake uncontrollably, which is obvious when they are nervous and emotional, and therefore the unconscious shaking of the index finger may occur.
For patients, often appear this symptom, or can exclude the possibility of physiological factors, should be as early as possible to confirm the diagnosis, clear cause of the cause of treatment.
