What to screen for in newborns with plantar blood

Newborns are screened for congenital hypothyroidism, phenylketonuria, and congenital adrenocortical hyperplasia with pedicled blood. Because these congenital disorders can be treated at an early stage and their intelligence can reach the level of normal children of the same age after treatment, newborns are usually screened for these disorders after 72 hours of life, such as congenital hypothyroidism, which can be treated with eugenol after early diagnosis. If treatment is started after one year of age, most children will not survive, so early screening and treatment of these diseases is very important.
