What’s wrong with your baby’s red and swollen throat?

Most cases of a baby’s red and swollen throat are caused by a respiratory infection. If your child has an inflammatory irritation or is cold, it may cause a red and swollen throat. You need to give your child plenty of water, observe changes in the child’s temperature, and give him/her oral medication to clear heat and detoxify the body. Children are relatively young, and if they have inflammation it can easily lead to changes and worsening of the condition. If the child has fever, he or she needs to go to the hospital for blood tests. Combined bacterial infections require the addition of anti-inflammatory drugs to control the infection. If the child does not show signs of respiratory infection, is in relatively good spirits, and simply has a red and swollen throat, you need to consider whether the child is experiencing violent crying and shouting. All these factors may cause the redness and swelling of the throat. You should keep the humidity in the room high, let your child drink more water, and observe for a while. If there are no other symptoms, it is not necessary to go to the hospital for examination.
