What does gynecological tct mean?

The tct in gynecology is a liquid-based cytology test that is a screening test for cervical cancer in women. Its findings are classified as normal, inflammatory, atypical squamous epithelial cells, and atypical squamous epithelial cells-which do not exclude high-grade lesions. If atypical squamous epithelial cells are present, a combined HPV screening is recommended. If HPV is negative, anti-inflammatory treatment can be administered for a period of time before retesting for tct. If atypical squamous epithelial cells are present – high grade lesions are not excluded, colposcopic cervical biopsy and combined HPV screening is recommended to rule out cervical precancer or cervical cancer. After the biopsy, the pathology results should be used to determine further treatment options.
