Classification and function of plasma lipoproteins

There are five types of plasma lipoproteins: celiac, very low density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein, high density lipoprotein, and intermediate density lipoprotein. The concentration of lipoproteins is often measured clinically to reflect the body’s susceptibility to thrombotic disease, for example, HDL is often measured. HDL is a kind of lipoprotein that can prevent coronary atherosclerosis. If the concentration of HDL decreases, the chance of embolic diseases such as coronary heart disease and cerebral thrombosis will increase. Meanwhile, low-density lipoprotein and very low-density lipoprotein, which is a high-risk factor for the occurrence of atherosclerosis, increase in low-density lipoprotein and very low-density lipoprotein, the human body will develop atherosclerosis, prone to coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction and a series of other diseases.
