Topiramate tablets are an antiepileptic drug, mainly used for the treatment of epilepsy. The exact mechanism that can antiepileptic has not been fully studied and considered may be the following three: 1. can block the repetitive release of action potentials induced by continuous depolarization of neurons. 2. can state dependent blocking of sodium channels. 3. can increase γ-aminobutyric acid and activate the frequency of γ-aminobutyric acid receptors, so that chloride ions enter neurons with increased inward flow and inhibition of central neurotransmitters. It is a second-line antiepileptic drug that is commonly used in adults and children, and is more widely used in children, and the dosage should be calculated according to the patient’s weight.
