Contraindications to interventional therapy for liver cancer

Contraindications to interventional therapy for liver cancer mainly include severe liver dysfunction, accompanied by portal vein thrombosis, severe underlying disease, critical condition of liver cancer, infection and so on. 1. Serious disorder of liver function: if interventional therapy is carried out when liver function is severely decompensated, it will further deteriorate liver function and lead to liver failure. 2. Accompanied by portal vein thrombus: if the thrombus clogs the main trunk of portal vein and there is no collateral circulation, the interventional therapy will block the hepatic artery and cause further ischemia of the liver, resulting in liver failure. 3. Serious basic diseases: Interventional therapy is contraindicated in poor physical conditions, especially when combined with serious basic diseases, such as serious cardiopulmonary diseases. 4. Critical condition of hepatocellular carcinoma: interventional therapy is contraindicated when the volume of hepatocellular carcinoma foci accounts for 70% or more of the whole liver, or when the hepatocellular carcinoma has developed systemic extensive metastasis. 5. Infection: interventional therapy is not suitable when there is serious infection (especially when combined with liver abscess) or when the white blood cell is less than 3×10^9/L, which is easy to induce infection. When interventional therapy for liver cancer is performed, it should be evaluated comprehensively according to the condition and carried out under the guidance of doctors.
