Urethral itching with white discharge is considered to be a UTI caused by mycoplasma or chlamydia infection. In addition to itching and white discharge, there can be pain in the urethra with a burning sensation, which can be mild or severe. In some patients, the pain is less pronounced, and the urethral orifice can be markedly ectopic, red and swollen, and a scab can form at the urethral orifice after a long period of not urinating or in the morning. The patient needs to undergo routine blood, urine, and mycoplasma and chlamydia culture tests. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, full dose and full course of treatment are needed. Erythromycin 500mg, 4 times/day orally for one week; Levofloxacin 0.2g, 2 times/day orally for two weeks; Azithromycin 1g on the first day and 0.5g on the next day for two days, which should be reviewed after the symptoms disappear to ensure clinical cure.
