Bi II surgery is a type of major gastrectomy to re-establish gastrointestinal continuity, in which the remnant stomach after partial resection is anastomosed to the jejunum. Gastric major resection is mainly used to treat patients with gastroduodenal ulcer and gastric cancer. Gastric major resection includes both resection of gastric tissue as well as reconstruction of gastrointestinal continuity. Reconstruction of continuity mainly includes BiⅠstyle, BiⅡstyle and gastrojejunal Roux-en-Y. The BiⅡstyle refers to the anastomosis of the gastric stump to the jejunum, which can be categorized into an anterior colonic and a posterior colonic approach according to the location of the anastomosis. The anterior colon anastomosis is to anastomose the jejunal collaterals to the stomach directly in the anterior colon, while the posterior colon approach requires perforation of the mesentery of the colon, and the jejunum is threaded through the perforation to the posterior colon to anastomose to the stomach. The gastrointestinal anastomosis of the BiⅡstyle procedure has less tension and less recurrence of ulcers, but it is prone to cause reflux gastritis. Patients are advised to consult a specialist and choose the appropriate treatment according to their condition.
