Four Gentlemen Soup Plus Reduction Nourishes or Hurts the Stomach

The Chinese herbal formula of Si Jun Zi Tang Plus Reduction is known to nourish the stomach.
Si Jun Zi Tang is a TCM tonic, mainly composed of ginseng, atractylodes, poria, and roasted licorice, which has the effect of benefiting qi and strengthening the spleen. Clinically, it is mainly used for the treatment of symptoms such as yellowish color, low voice and timidness, little food and fatigue, and loose stools (thin and unshaped feces) due to deficiency of spleen and stomach qi.
The spleen and stomach can generate qi and blood, and if the spleen is deficient in qi and blood, it cannot glorify the face, and the face will be yellowish in color. If the patient’s spleen and stomach are deficient in qi, the power of putrefaction (the initial digestion of food to form surimi) will be weakened, and the patient will eat less. Insufficient transportation and digestion results in loose stools due to internalization of dampness and turbidity. This formula can tonify the spleen and stomach as well as dispel dampness and turbidity, and can be used clinically to treat chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer, and other conditions characterized by deficiency of spleen and stomach qi.
If symptoms occur, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time and follow the doctor’s instructions to avoid delaying the condition.
