Intervention in height is key by age 12

Children grow taller in three main stages: The first stage, 0-7 years old, is the stage where the child’s height increase has a 50% impact on the ultimate height. The expert group showed in 2005, by studying data from nine cities in China, that the natural growth of adult ultimate height determinants depends on the growth before the age of seven. If by age seven the child’s height is below the standard for the same age without timely intervention and left to grow naturally, the height in adulthood will also be lower than that of the same age, i.e.: height at age seven is an important indicator of the level of early childhood height care. In the second stage, from 7-12 years old, the height increase has an impact of 30% on the final height. The third stage, by the age of 12-18 years decreases to 20%. At puberty, the influence of sex hormones on height is obvious, because the process of height stopping during puberty is the process of growth hormone and sex hormone increasing and decreasing. Therefore, usually by the age of 12, the child has completed most of the height growth. Therefore, 3-12 years old is the best time for children to grow. If a child receives the right guidance and cultivates the right diet, exercise and sleep habits during the critical period of growth (3-12 years old), his/her height will be 15-20 cm higher than the natural growth on average, but after the first menstruation of girls and the change of voice of boys, the height growth will enter the final sprint stage, which also marks the imminent termination of human body growth. Need to intervene and help the six types of people (3-18 years old): 1, due to genetics or disease, delayed height growth (annual average increase of less than 6 cm); 2, precocious, female 11, male 13 years old before the appearance of secondary sexual characteristics, resulting in bone age, shortening the growth period, the growth plate closed in advance to stop growing, the final height but a short cut; 3, 8-14 years old growth “surge period “4, malnutrition, anorexia, short physique; 5, puberty slow growth, stop growing, growth suspended children; 6, fat affects the growth of children, weight more than 20% of the normal standard.
