HBV-DNA is a quantitative indicator of Hepatitis B virus, which suggests the activity and replication of Hepatitis B virus. There are two ways to test for HBV, qualitative test and quantitative test, and different ways to view the report card are also different.
1. Qualitative test: There are two types of HBV-DNA qualitative test results, i.e. negative and positive. Negative is a normal result, and if the patient’s result is positive, it is recommended that he/she choose the suitable treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
2. Quantitative test: HBV-DNA quantitative results are based on the specific concentration, the normal range of the test results will usually be found at the back of the report card, so that patients can compare the difference between their own values and the normal value.
If it is less than the normal value, it indicates that HBV-DNA is basically not replicating, if it is greater than the normal value, it indicates that HBV-DNA has activity, and the higher the value, the stronger the activity.
It is recommended to go to a regular hospital in time after getting the HBV-DNA report so that the doctor can make a diagnosis by combining other indicators.
