Patients who report small bumps in the hilar region are most likely to have an occupancy in the hilar region as a result of ultrasound, CT, or MRI. Further CT or MRI examinations are needed to determine the nature of the occupancy, whether it is an enlarged lymph node, a hemangioma, a malignant tumor, an encapsulated worm or other disease. For such patients, PET-CT is also performed if necessary. If it is an inflammatory condition or an occupancy due to enlarged lymph nodes, it will most often not cause a complete obstruction of the bile duct. In the case of malignant tumors or hepatobiliary carcinoma, obstructive jaundice will occur within a certain period of time, and the stool will be white, and the jaundice will be painless.
