Gagging can detect thyroid lesions

Thyroid disorders can occur at all ages and regular checkups are essential. Usually when thyroid disease occurs, the symptoms are not very obvious and in many cases can be easily confused with cold symptoms. Therefore, ultrasound plays a key role in ruling out thyroid disorders. In addition to regular checkups, you can learn how to check your thyroid gland yourself: First, look in the mirror, stretch your neck and swallow to see if any lumps move up and down with the swallowing motion. The second touch is to place your right thumb on the right side of the trachea under the laryngeal node and touch the left lobe of the thyroid gland with the rest of your fingers, and feel if there is a lump sliding under your fingers when you swallow. Enlarged thyroid gland occurs mainly because the body does not take enough iodine from the diet, so you can increase the intake of iodine in the diet, such as eating more seaweed, nori, sea fish and other kinds of seafood. People suffering from thyroid disease should avoid eating warm or irritating foods such as chili and strong coffee to avoid inflammation.
