Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection is mainly transmitted by respiratory droplets, such as coughing, sneezing, talking, laughing, and singing, which can spread droplets of Mycobacterium tuberculosis into the air, where they can live for several hours and can be infected when inhaled by others. These droplets can also adhere to dust and surfaces and contaminate the air, so it is important to keep a distance from TB patients and wear a mask as an effective measure to avoid infection. Tuberculosis patients must live in a separate room at home, and the room should be ventilated frequently. When coughing or sneezing, TB patients should cover their mouth and nose to avoid infecting others. TB patients should not spit anywhere and spit in a spittoon with a disinfectant solution and a cover.
