The method of leg length measurement

Leg length measurement can be done in several ways as follows: 1. When performing bilateral lower limb length comparison, this can be done. First, find a relatively long bandage or thread and fix one end to the umbilicus or anterior superior iliac spine area and stretch the other end toward the medial ankle of this side, which is the tip of the medial ankle joint. After pressing this place into place, measure the length between the two points. Afterwards, compare the lower extremities to clarify whether they are of unequal length. 2. To measure the absolute length of the lower extremities, ask the patient to find a longer bandage and fix one point on the greater trochanter, the most prominent part of the lateral hip joint, and another point on the tip of the medial ankle. The absolute length of one lower limb can be clarified by pulling the bandage tight and measuring the length of the bandage.
