What’s going on with the increased urination?

Increased urine output refers to adult 24-hour urine output >2500ml, children 24-hour urine output >3000ml, the cause can be divided into physiological polyuria such as drinking too much water, etc., and pathologic polyuria such as central uremic avalanches, chronic nephritis, diabetes mellitus and so on. 1.Physiological polyuria: generally normal renal function, if drinking too much water, a large number of intravenous fluids or mental stress, it may cause physiological polyuria. Usually, no special treatment is needed, and it can be relieved by removing the causes. 2. Pathologic polyuria: common in endocrine diseases, renal diseases and metabolic diseases. Endocrine diseases, such as central uremic syndrome, due to a decrease in the secretion of antidiuretic hormone, resulting in increased urine output; renal diseases, such as chronic nephritis, renal failure, due to tubular reabsorption and concentration dysfunction, resulting in increased urine output; metabolic diseases, such as diabetes mellitus, due to an increase in the glucose in the urine, resulting in solubilized diuresis. If there is a long-term increase in urine output, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital to clarify the cause, and deal with and treat it according to the doctor’s advice.
