What happens when one eye is big and the other is small after upper eyelid surgery?

A patient who has upper eyelid surgery and develops one large eye and one small eye may have postoperative swelling or surgical failure.
Eyelid swelling can occur after eyelid surgery, and until the swelling subsides, it is normal for one eye to be larger than the other, and no special treatment is needed. This is normal and usually does not require special treatment. As the swelling subsides, the patient’s eyes will return to the same size.
If there is an error in the design of the eyelid or during the surgery and one of the eyelids does not reach the desired height, the patient’s eyes may not be equal in size.
It is recommended that patients following eyelid surgery follow their doctor’s instructions, have regular checkups, and seek prompt medical attention when discomfort occurs.
