What does Losenatide Injection do?

The main effect of Losenatide Injection is to be able to be used for glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Losenatide Injection is a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 receptor agonist) that promotes glucose-dependent insulin secretion, and is used to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus in conjunction with exercise and dietary control, as a single agent or in combination with metformin therapy. Adverse reactions such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal distension, and injection site reactions may occur after monotherapy with losanatide injection, and hypoglycemia and injection site reactions may occur after combination with metformin. This drug is contraindicated in patients who have had a previous severe allergic reaction to polyethylene glycol losenatide or any component of this product, a family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma, who have medullary thyroid carcinoma, or who have multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2. Patients requiring treatment with Losenatide Injection should use the drug under the supervision of a physician.
