What is atopic eczema

Atopic eczema is actually atopic dermatitis, formerly known as atopic dermatitis, genetic allergic dermatitis, etc. It is a chronic inflammatory skin disease associated with genetic allergic qualities, manifested by pruritus, polymorphic lesions and a tendency to exude, often accompanied by asthma and allergic rhinitis. The cause of the disease may be related to genetic, immune, environmental factors, and impaired skin barrier function. It manifests itself differently at different ages and can usually be divided into infancy, childhood, and young adulthood. The goal of atopic eczema treatment is to relieve or eliminate clinical symptoms, eliminate triggers and aggravating factors, reduce recurrence, and improve the patient’s quality of life. For atopic eczema in infancy, breastfeeding is advocated, excessive cleaning is avoided, and emollient moisturizers should be used more often to repair the skin barrier function.
