Are adenomatous intestinal polyps benign?

Adenomatous intestinal polyps are precancerous lesions, and patients are advised to have the polyps removed endoscopically in a timely manner and have regular follow-up colonoscopies. Intestinal polyps refer to a group of bulging lesions protruding from the mucosal surface into the intestinal lumen, collectively referred to as polyps until the nature of the pathology is determined. Intestinal polyps are distributed in various parts of the colon and rectum, there are single polyps, multiple polyps and polypoid lesions, pathologic microscopy is divided into inflammatory or hyperplastic polyps, tubular adenomas, tubular choriocarpous adenoma, choriocarpous adenomas and other types. Clinical research has found that more than 85% of rectal cancer is caused by rectal adenomatous polyps, therefore, for adenomatous polyps, it is recommended to endoscopic surgical resection and biopsy to clarify the pathology, and at the same time, pay attention to the regular review of colonoscopy. It is recommended that patients should go to regular hospitals for examination, clear diagnosis and reasonable treatment to avoid delay in diagnosis and treatment.
