There are now more than 100 million people over the age of 65 in China, including more than 5 million people with Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s disease includes Alzheimer’s dementia (SDAT), vascular dementia (VD), mixed dementia and other dementias. Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia are the two most prevalent types of dementia, accounting for more than 90% of all dementias. Alzheimer’s disease is currently recognized as a major public health problem worldwide. With the development of science and technology, the improvement of economic level and people’s living standard, as well as the advancement of health care, the proportion of elderly people in the total population is increasing. The high incidence of Alzheimer’s disease has posed a major biomedical, social and economic problem to society and families. It is difficult to state a clear causative factor, which eventually leads to dementia regardless of the early or late age of onset. Clinical manifestations include memory impairment, higher cortical dysfunction, personality changes, psychiatric symptoms and neurotic-like symptoms. Patients aged 60 years or older who have hypertension, cerebral arteriosclerosis, diabetes mellitus or hyperlipidemia or hyperviscosity should be highly alert to the development of dementia and should take active measures to prevent the development of the disease if they develop the following conditions ① Dizziness, tinnitus, insomnia, body sleepiness, fatigue, confusion, and lack of concentration without obvious reasons. ②Patients become less active, less responsive, less active, withdrawn, selfish, and not? like to change the environment, lack of enthusiasm in treating people, few words and dull look. ③The scope of interest becomes narrower, indifferent to people, emotionally unstable, depressed and worrying, easily provoked, irritated by trivial matters, sometimes noisy, scolding for no reason. ④Not paying attention to hygiene, even unable to take care of their own lives. ⑤ Memory impairment, especially recent memory loss. (6) Frequent errors in skilled work, inability to call familiar people by name, diminished comprehension, judgment, and calculation. (7) Childish behavior that is incompatible with age and learning. (8) Decreased cerebral blood flow and vascular regulation disorders.
