The original dosage of Maimendong Tang was 42g of Maimendong, 6g of Semenxia, 6g of Ginseng, 6g of Glycyrrhiza glabra, 3g of round-grained rice, and 12 jujubes.
Mai Men Dong Tang is a traditional Chinese medicine formula composed of mai men dong, ginseng and round-grained rice. In this formula, Maimendong has the effect of nourishing Yin and moistening lung, benefiting stomach and generating fluids, clearing the heart and removing vexation; ginseng has the effect of replenishing vital energy, tonifying the spleen, benefiting the lungs, generating fluids, calming the spirit and benefiting the intellect; round-grained rice has the effect of replenishing vital energy and strengthening the spleen, removing vexation and thirst, and stopping diarrhea and dysentery. The combination of all the formulae has the effect of clearing and nourishing the lung and stomach, lowering the rebellious and lowering the qi.
This formula can be used in treating cough and asthma caused by deficiency heat and impotence of the lung, as well as vomiting and eructation caused by deficiency of stomach yin. The adverse reactions, contraindications and medication precautions of this formula are not known.
