What exactly is hip pain?

Hip pain is not a disease per se but a clinical condition. Sports injuries, dysplasia, trauma, osteoarthritis, osteonecrosis and rheumatic immune system diseases can all cause hip pain by damaging the joint structures. Even lesions outside the hip joint, such as bursitis of the greater trochanter, or lesions of the lumbosacral spine or sacroiliac joints, can also cause hip pain.
As it connects the trunk and lower limbs and is large in scope, there are many causes of hip pain. If there is significant pain in the hip that cannot be relieved, or if there is restricted movement or abnormal gait, prompt medical attention is recommended for a definitive diagnosis.
