The clinical manifestations of carpal tunnel syndrome include early symptoms such as sensory abnormalities, mid-term symptoms such as pain and activity limitation, and late symptoms such as muscle atrophy, and some patients may also experience the above cross symptoms at the same time.
1. Early symptoms: due to the compression of the median nerve at the carpal tunnel, the compression is mild in the early stage, and the patients usually show sensory abnormalities such as numbness of the thumb, forefinger, and middle finger.
2. Intermediate symptoms: Due to further compression of the median nerve, the nerve becomes edematous, and the patient experiences pain, numbness, and limited grip and other activities in the fingers.
3. Late stage symptoms: In the late stage, patients suffer from muscle atrophy due to long-term activity limitation, and even loss of sensation and movement in the thumb, index finger, middle finger and other areas.
Patients with carpal tunnel syndrome are advised to go to the hospital in time for early and regular treatment to minimize the adverse effects of the disease.
