The efficacy of Dixumab is to inhibit bone resorption of osteoclasts and to treat oncologic diseases; side effects include hypersensitivity reactions, hypocalcemia, osteonecrosis, and fractures. Dixumab inhibits bone resorption by osteoclasts and is indicated for the prevention of solid tumor bone metastases, bone-related events in patients with multiple myeloma, and the treatment of giant cell tumor of bone. Possible side effects include hypersensitivity reactions, hypocalcemia, osteonecrosis of the jaw, femur fractures, vertebral fractures, nausea, diarrhea, and fatigue. This drug is contraindicated in allergic patients, patients with hypocalcemia and in patients with unhealed post-operative stomatological wounds, and should be used with caution in pregnant and lactating women. The use of the drug should be evaluated and monitored by experienced specialists, and the drug should be discontinued promptly if any side effects occur.
