Can I use frozen sperm for IVF?

Ejaculation, which is so easy for most men, can sometimes be maddening because of the lack of ejaculation, even to the point of having a knife in the testicles to remove the sperm. Couples undergoing IVF treatment will need to masturbate to retrieve sperm on the day of their wife’s egg retrieval. However, some patients are unable to ejaculate or even have difficulty getting an erection on the day of egg retrieval because of excessive emotional stress or because they usually have difficulty masturbating to retrieve sperm. On the other hand, there is a husband who cannot ejaculate even though he has tried everything. Finally, she had to have a testicular puncture to remove the sperm for IVF. How can we avoid taking this cut for nothing? After discussion, we adopted the method of advance semen freezing. For men with known difficulties in sperm retrieval, semen is removed and frozen in the hospital beforehand when they are in good health and ejaculate easily. If it is difficult to retrieve sperm by masturbation on the same day, the sperm frozen in the hospital can be removed and put to use. Sperm freezing is also suitable for men in other situations. 1. Those who still have fertility requirements before radiotherapy for tumor. Radiotherapy may seriously damage the sperm production function. 2. Those whose severe oligospermia cannot be improved by treatment. Many men with severe oligospermia cannot guarantee that these precious sperm will always be present, and we have encountered some patients who have been tested without sperm during IVF treatment. In order to preserve these precious sperm, we can freeze and store these babies and remove them when IVF treatment is needed, and it is usually no problem to preserve them for several years. 3. Testicular surgery to obtain sperm. A small amount of sperm is obtained by testicular puncture or incision, and if saved for spare, it may avoid another surgery. If the quality after preservation is not good enough to be used for assisted reproduction techniques then consider surgical sperm retrieval. 4. Precious sperm from other causes: for example, azoospermic men, who have emerged through hard treatment, can also freeze and save these babies for spare in order to avoid long-term medication.
