How many days do you need to take azithromycin for bronchitis?

Bronchitis can be caused by infection, physical and chemical irritation, and allergies. If bronchitis is caused by sensitive bacteria, azithromycin is usually taken for 3-5 days to relieve symptoms. If bronchitis is caused by other pathogens or other causes, taking azithromycin is usually ineffective. Azithromycin is a macrolide antimicrobial drug, which mainly targets infections caused by Haemophilus influenzae, Catamoeba, Streptococcus pneumoniae and Chlamydia pneumoniae. If bronchitis is caused by the above sensitive bacteria, taking Azithromycin can be therapeutic. Because azithromycin has a long half-life, it can usually be stopped after 3-5 days. If bronchitis is caused by other bacteria, the sensitive antibiotic should be changed; if it is caused by physical or chemical stimulation or allergy, it can be treated according to the corresponding etiology. Patients with bronchitis are advised to seek medical treatment as soon as possible to clarify the cause of the disease and standardize the treatment under the guidance of the doctor to avoid delaying the condition.
