There is no such thing as the most effective soup for children to resolve phlegm and cough. Children can be guided by the doctor to choose Qing Jin Cough and Phlegm Pill, Liu Jun Zi Tang, San Ao Tang and Er Chen Tang and other traditional Chinese medicines. 1. Children with frequent coughing, yellowish phlegm, thick and sticky phlegm, unpleasant coughing and phlegm, phlegm ringing in the throat, fever and thirst, dry stools, short and reddish urine (small amount of urine, dark yellow in color) and other symptoms belong to the syndrome of phlegm-heat embedded in the lungs. It can be used as Qing Jin Cough and Phlegm Pill to clear heat and resolve phlegm; it is not recommended for patients with cold lung. 2. The child has symptoms such as weak cough, white sputum, shortness of breath, poor appetite, spontaneous sweating (involuntary sweating during the day, aggravated by the slightest movement), fear of cold, etc., which belongs to the syndrome of deficiency of lung, spleen and qi. Six Gentlemen Soup can be used to strengthen the spleen and resolve phlegm, tonify the lung and benefit the qi; it should not be used for children with cold and fever. 3. Children with cough with heavy sound, more phlegm, white and diluted phlegm, chest tightness, loss of appetite, body fatness, fatigue, drowsiness, and phlegm ringing in the throat belong to the syndrome of phlegm-dampness embedded in the lungs. San’ao Tang combined with Er Chen Tang can be used for the effect of drying dampness and resolving phlegm (removing phlegm from the body with drugs that dry dampness); however, it is not suitable for patients with internal heat. During the period of taking the medicine, we should have a light diet; before using the medicine, we need to have a doctor’s guidance to identify the symptoms, do not use the medicine blindly.
