Is survival the same as viability?

Survival rate is not the same as survival rate. Survival rate refers to the number of cases of a patient receiving a certain treatment or a certain disease that are still alive after several years of follow-up as a proportion of the observed cases. The survival rate refers to the probability that a patient will survive the treatment, i.e. the number of cases that survive as a proportion of the total number of cases. Survival rate reflects the degree of danger to the life of the disease, and is often used in the study of certain chronic diseases, cancer, cardiovascular disease, tuberculosis, etc., to evaluate the long-term efficacy of these longer-term diseases. The survival rate is often compared with the mortality rate, e.g., when the survival rate is 75%, the mortality rate is 25%, which, as an overall probability, is a prediction of the survival of the diseased population, and is calculated as the number of survivors ÷ total number × 100%.
