The exact location of the Lung Yu point is located in the spinal region, the back of the body, under the spinous process of the 3rd thoracic vertebra, 1.5 inches away from the posterior midline. The Lung Yu point is an acupoint on the Bladder meridian and is located in the spinal region of the body, or the back, under the spinous process of the 3rd thoracic vertebrae and 1.5 inches off the posterior midline. This point is effective in nourishing Yin and moisturizing the lungs (nourishing the lungs by replenishing the fluid in the lungs), clearing heat and tonifying deficiency. It is used to treat cough, asthma, hemoptysis, bone vapor and tidal fever (heat seems to emanate from the inside of the bones as regularly as the tides), night sweating (sweating at night while sleeping), and urticaria. Specific clinical applications of Lung Yu points include: with Tanzhong point, Zhigou point, Daling point for cough and asthma; with Lejiao point for whooping cough; with Spleen Yu point, Fenglong point, Zhongkou point, Qihai point, and Shansanli point for bronchial dilatation; and with Anguoji Yu point and Shansanli point for bone vaporization and tidal fever.
