Symptoms and Treatment of Urticaria Vasculitis

Urticaria vasculitis is generally referred to as urticarial vasculitis. Symptoms of urticarial vasculitis include fever, skin eruption like rash, and edema, and patients can take medications to improve the symptoms of the disease. Urticarial vasculitis is an immune complex disease. Patients may experience irregular fever and elevated edematous erythema and bullae on the surface of the skin, accompanied by itching, burning sensation, and pain. Patients with hypocomplementemia, which can involve multiple systems throughout the body, may present with joint pain, sub-sternal pain, malaise, and diarrhea. Patients may be prescribed systemic use of glucocorticoid drugs, such as prednisone and methylprednisolone, or oral antihistamines, such as cetirizine and loratadine.
