Is alkaline phosphatase 250 to 300 normal?

Alkaline phosphatase 250-300 U/L is high, which may be caused by physiological factors such as pregnancy, growth and development, which is normal; or it may be caused by pathologic factors such as liver and gallbladder diseases, bone diseases, which is abnormal. Alkaline phosphatase is an indicator used to test liver function and can also be used to assist in the diagnosis of cholestatic diseases. Normal values are 40-110 U/L for adults and <250 U/L for children (normal values may vary slightly from laboratory to laboratory and it is recommended that the reference value provided in the report be used as a guide). Elevated alkaline phosphatase may be caused by physiological factors such as pregnancy, developing children, eating foods high in sugar or fat, as well as hepatobiliary diseases such as biliary stones and obstructive jaundice, skeletal diseases such as rickets and osteochondritis dissecans, and neoplastic diseases such as hepatocellular carcinoma and biliary tract cancer. If alkaline phosphatase abnormality occurs, it is recommended to go to the hospital.
