Gastroesophageal reflux disease.

  1. Esophageal symptoms The typical symptoms are reflux and heartburn. There are more atypical symptoms. For example, chest pain, which can radiate to the back, shoulder and neck in severe cases, resembles angina pectoris and is called non-cardiogenic chest pain. Some patients have difficulty swallowing or a foreign body sensation behind the sternum, which may be due to esophageal spasm or dysfunction. 2. Extra-esophageal symptoms. For example, pharyngitis, chronic cough and asthma. In some patients with the above diseases of unknown etiology and prolonged treatment, attention should be paid to the presence of gastroesophageal reflux disease. Hysteria is also currently thought to be associated with esophageal reflux disease.
