What is the cause of yellowing face?

The issue of yellowing of the face may be subjective to individual judgment and there will be some differences. For oriental people, especially Chinese, who belong to the yellow race, the face may have some yellowish color, but if you find a significant yellowish color, you should be alert to many diseases, among which jaundice is an important cause of a yellowish color. For a visibly yellow face, the bilirubin level in the serum should be tested to determine if jaundice is really present or if the complexion itself is a normal yellowish color. In the case of jaundice with a yellow face, the main consideration is whether there is some disease of biliary obstruction, most commonly bile duct stones and biliary tumors. There are also other causes of biliary strictures and non-obstructive jaundice, including hematologic disorders such as hemolytic jaundice. The yellowing of the face does not necessarily mean that there is a disease, but it should be taken seriously and diagnosed through appropriate laboratory tests and examinations to rule out some yellowing due to disease.
