Can high heels cause bunions?

Summer is here, girls have put on beautiful summer clothes, forming a beautiful landscape on the street, in these people high heel, pointed leather shoes, seems to have become a symbol of fashionable women. Especially some women in order to show their curves, the trend of higher and higher heels, however, in fact, they do not know that it is this usually cool high heels, pointed shoes, has quietly “stolen” away their foot health, so that they suffer from bunion disease and may send themselves to the operating table. Bunion, commonly known as “big bone abduction”, is a common foot deformity, mostly bilateral onset. Usually the bunions are flared outward, while the heel of the big toe is closed inward, making the front foot look like a triangular “snake head”. The main reason for this phenomenon is due to long hours of wearing high-heeled, pointed shoes, pointed shoes with a triangular front, forcing the front of the foot into a narrow triangular area, coupled with the lack of elastic leather upper, the bunion is forced to turn outward, and the little toe is turned inward. The high heels make the foot under increased pressure, the ligaments at the joints are excessively elongated, and over time the soft tissue of the bunion ligaments, which maintain the stability of the foot bones, become deformed and finally cause permanent bunion deformity of the bones. This deformity not only makes the inside of the foot appear “big bone abduction”, but also over time will make the negative focus of the foot change, can not walk long distances, toe pain, calluses on both sides of the foot, etc., serious cases have to be corrected through surgery. So people are advised, especially fashionable young women must bear the pain, it is best to stay away from heels in more than 4 cm high heel pointed shoes.
