Rest days after scraping with thick lining

It is generally recommended to rest for about 1 week after scraping with a thick lining. Thick endometrium may have irregular vaginal bleeding with a relatively large amount. The purpose of scraping at this time is to stop the bleeding on the one hand, and to take the endometrium for pathological examination on the other hand, to clarify the diagnosis and guide the next step of treatment. Scraping is the use of a spatula to remove the endometrial tissue, which can cause some damage to the woman’s body. After scraping, there will be vague pain in the lower abdomen and a little vaginal bleeding which can last 1-3 days and usually stops within 1 week. It is recommended to rest at home for 1 week after the operation, but it is not necessary to be strictly bed-ridden, and appropriate activities can be performed to avoid straining and strenuous exercise. Patients should take oral antibiotics for 3-5 days after surgery to prevent infection. Sexual intercourse, bathing and swimming are prohibited for one month. In addition, patients are advised to eat a high-protein diet and avoid spicy and cold foods. If there is anemia, oral iron medication is needed to correct the anemia. Postoperative patients need to note that if there is pathological examination, the results are usually available after 3-7 days, and further consultation is needed after the pathological results are returned to guide the next step of treatment.
