Clobazam tablets are a medication used to treat anxiety disorders and refractory epilepsy. It is indicated for the treatment of refractory epilepsy that has failed to respond to other antiepileptic drugs and is more effective in complex partial seizures secondary to generalized seizures and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. Clobazam tablets are very effective in anxiolytic as well as anticonvulsant, and its ED₅₀ (half effective dose) of anti-electroconvulsive effect is also moderate, and the therapeutic range is wider compared to other drugs. Oral absorption is rapid and complete, and it is metabolized by the liver, again with good anticonvulsant effects. Clobazam tablets are similar to other benzodiazepines in that they are associated with mild sedation, agitation, depression, and muscle weakness, with symptoms diminishing until they disappear after discontinuation of the drug. It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to the drug components, pregnant women, severe liver disease, and patients with acute angle-closure glaucoma and porphyria. Patients should take Clobazam tablets under the guidance of a doctor, and should go to the hospital in time when adverse reactions occur.
