ASC-US is the term used for cervical exfoliative cytology, which means atypical cervical epithelial cells that cannot be clearly identified. If ASC-US is found during cervical TCT, further tests should be performed, such as cervical HPV testing for HPV infection and, if necessary, cervical colposcopy to rule out cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. If the ASC-US result is negative for HPV infection and there is no HPV infection, the TCT can be repeated or observed for a few months.
