The itching on both sides of the scrotum may be caused by scrotal eczema, or it may be a fungal infection that causes ringworm. It is best to collect local scrotal dander or secretions for further examination. If it is just common scrotal eczema, it may be caused by tight underwear that is not breathable, resulting in the incomplete discharge of moisture from the body. As long as you change your cotton underwear and keep your scrotum dry, you can wash your scrotum with bitter ginseng lotion and apply erythromycin ointment for symptomatic treatment. If it is clear from the examination that the ringworm is caused by a fungal infection, you will need to apply antifungal ointment such as clotrimazole ointment or ketoconazole ointment for at least two weeks before the symptoms are completely relieved. Do not wash your scrotum with soap or body wash during the treatment period, as it may aggravate the symptoms.
