Body Temperature Measurement Methods

There are currently three methods of temperature measurement, including oral, axillary and anal. If an increase in body temperature occurs, it is detected by means of a thermometer. The thermometer is usually checked to see if it is in good condition, and the mercury scale of the thermometer is dumped below 35°C before measurement. For oral temperature measurement, the mercury thermometer for measuring oral temperature is placed under the patient’s tongue for more than three minutes and can be taken out again for reading. When measuring temperature rectally, you can use paraffin oil or other lubricant to apply to the mercury end of the thermometer, and then insert it into the anus at about 3-4cm, and place it for more than three minutes before reading. Underarm temperature detection, first dry the sweat under the armpits, the mercury end of the thermometer in the armpits, usually more than five minutes before taking out the reading.
