There is no definitive value for the chances of HPV 16 positivity being a cervical cancer.Whether HPV 16 positivity is cancerous or not needs to be determined in conjunction with the results of a cervical TCT and cervical biopsy. Only some HPV 16 positive persistent infections have the potential to lead to the development of cervical cancer. HPV16-positive is a high-risk human papillomavirus infection, and most cervical cancers are combined with HPV16-positive infections. However, not all HPV16-positive infections will necessarily lead to cervical cancer, and HPV16-positive infections require a good cervical TCT (cervical liquid-based cell) screening and cervical tissue biopsy. If the cervical biopsy does not show any abnormal cellular changes in the cervix, most HPV16-positive infections will recover on their own in about a year and can heal themselves. If HPV16-positive infection persists, medication is needed. During the treatment, coitus is prohibited, and the patient should be retested after stopping the medication.
