Obese diabetes treatment starts with weight loss

You may not know that obese people have a super high rate of diabetes, especially after the age of 50, the chances of obese people getting diabetes will be more than 80%. Obese people want to put an end to the occurrence of diabetes, weight loss is a very good way. The fat of obese patients is hypertrophic, and the insulin receptors on the hypertrophic fat cells are relatively reduced and relatively insensitive to insulin, and although there is enough insulin, it cannot play its role, which brings a burden to the body, and it is not only easy to induce diabetes, but also prone to hypertension, hyperlipidemia, stroke, coronary heart disease, endocrine disorders and other diseases. Therefore, obesity is not a symbol of health, but a harbinger of certain diseases, so reducing weight and preventing obesity has a significant effect on the prevention and control of diabetes and other diseases. 60% of patients with diabetes who develop after the age of 40 are overweight or obese at the onset of the disease, and more than 80% of obese people over the age of 50 have diabetes. Obesity is often an early symptom of diabetes, and is often an important predisposing factor for diabetes. In recent years, a large body of data has agreed that obesity is an important environmental factor in the development and progression of non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. The degree of obesity and the duration of obesity can affect the emergence of hyperglycemia, and the heavier the degree of obesity and the longer the duration, the more likely diabetes will occur. The more obese a person is and the longer it lasts, the more likely he or she is to develop diabetes. Obesity increases the risk of diabetes. 6 hospitals selected a total of 400 people with the first onset of diabetes, of which 2/3 were given weight loss treatment, 1/3 were given comfort treatment, and at the same time auxiliary diet moderation and exercise. 24 weeks later, it was found that 31% of the patients who underwent weight loss treatment had their condition reduced, and in addition to significant weight loss, fasting blood sugar and 2-hour postprandial blood sugar were also effectively reduced. Many patients were able to improve their condition without taking glucose-lowering drugs, and even significantly reversed the course of diabetes. In addition, 10% of patients treated with placebo in combination with diet and exercise showed improvement. According to the latest World Health Organization (WHO) treatment principles, for newly diagnosed diabetic patients who are obese, the first step is not to take medication but to lose weight, so patients who come to the clinic now who are overweight with diabetic symptoms are advised to go to the obesity clinic immediately.
