What is the source of treatment for diabetes?

In this day and age, don’t you know that gastric bypass surgery can treat diabetes? Then here is a brief introduction to gastric bypass surgery. The origin of gastric bypass surgery: Gastric bypass surgery was first used in bariatric surgery. After several years of clinical practice, doctors accidentally discovered that this surgery could effectively treat diabetes, thus gastric bypass surgery, brought a new gospel for diabetic patients. One comprehensive analysis of 22,094 patients showed that 84% of type 2 diabetes was completely reversed after the procedure, and most patients stopped taking oral medication or insulin therapy before being discharged from the hospital. Francesco Rubino of the Catholic University of Rome, Italy, reported similar results in Mexico, Peru, the Dominican Republic and India in diabetic patients who did not reach morbid obesity after gastric bypass surgery. Some other countries, such as China, Japan, Italy and Belgium, have also done some clinical trials. Characteristics of gastric bypass surgery for diabetes mellitus: One, K cells distributed in the gastrointestinal tract are stimulated by food to secrete insulin resistance factors, causing the body to develop insulin resistance. Second, islet cells are damaged and apoptotic under the action of insulin resistance factor. The unique feature of gastric bypass surgery is that the physiological flow of food is changed, which is accomplished through the steps of gastric block, gastrointestinal anastomosis, and enteroenteric anastomosis. After the surgery, insulin resistance in the patient’s body is eliminated, and the way food flows through the body after the surgery also promotes insulin secretion in the patient’s body, reduces apoptosis and proliferates islet cells, restores islet function, and effectively treats diabetes. In addition to the normalization of blood glucose, the patient recovered well from a series of complications that accompanied him. For example, retinopathy, diabetic nephropathy, diabetic dermatitis, diabetic sexual dysfunction, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, etc. were gradually cured. The occurrence of serious complications has been eliminated, and the occurrence of disabling and fatal situations has been avoided. Gastric bypass surgery (GBP), with less trauma, lower risk, faster recovery and no recurrence; most patients recovered to normal blood glucose before discharge after surgery and stopped using hypoglycemic drugs and insulin; a small number of patients have a slightly longer recovery time, which mainly depends on the extent of the patient’s preoperative islet function impairment. Patients who are treated early will recover more quickly and completely. About the surgery Rubino and some other doctors have submitted a proposal to the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) to treat type 2 diabetes with gastric bypass surgery, said Richard Heilman, president of AACE: The association is studying the evidence and has not reached a decision. He added that existing treatments for diabetes may be safer and less costly, although few existing treatments are effective in treating diabetes. Kelly, a health consultant for Diabetes UK, stressed that a healthy balanced diet and participation in regular exercise may be the key to preventing type 2 diabetes, with surgery as a last resort.
