What does mild hypodiastolic left ventricular function mean?

Left ventricular hypodiastolic function is a common condition that can be correctly reflected on cardiac ultrasound, and there are both physiologic and pathologic causes of this condition. Physiologic causes of left ventricular hypodiastolic function, such as age or hereditary factors, can lead to mild hypodiastolic function. Pathologic factors, such as cardiogenic diseases, coronary artery disease, angina pectoris, myocarditis, pericarditis, obstructive heart disease, valvular heart disease, and hypertensive heart disease, can lead to mild left ventricular hypodiastolic function. In addition, for respiratory diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and pulmonary hypertension, left ventricular hypodiastolic function can also be triggered. Endocrine and metabolic disorders can also lead to these conditions. Therefore, patients with mild hypodiastolic left ventricular function need to be further investigated and treated.
