A dry, sore throat is not necessarily a novel coronavirus. The feature of a dry and sore throat is not specific enough to be used as a basis for a definitive diagnosis of novel coronavirus. For example, colds, upper respiratory tract infections, or acute pharyngitis caused by other bacterial or viral infections can also cause a dry and sore throat. People with a history of suspected epidemiologic exposure or who have traveled to an infected area within 14 days should immediately go to a fever clinic for nucleic acid testing if they develop a dry and sore throat. If the result is positive, the diagnosis can be confirmed and they should cooperate with the prevention and control authorities to go to a designated place for isolation and treatment. If the result is negative, the patient should be quarantined, complete the New Crown vaccination on time, have his/her temperature measured, and repeat the nucleic acid test until he/she is completely excluded. It is recommended to go to the hospital in time for a complete examination to determine the cause of the disease and then give targeted treatment or therapy under the guidance of the doctor.
