What is occupational shoulder pain do you know?

With the development of technology and changes in the way of working, there has been a consequent increase in work of a fixed, attention-oriented nature, which has led to a significant increase in musculoskeletal disorders of the neck, shoulders and upper back, and patients coming to the pain clinic with this type of pain are seen almost every day. Occupational musculoskeletal disorders affect the quality of work and life, making them unbearable. Frozen shoulder is a chronic aseptic inflammation of the muscles, tendons, bursae and ligaments around the shoulder joint, as well as the joint capsule and other soft tissues, and is a multi-site, multi-bursal lesion. The main symptoms of frozen shoulder are unilateral shoulder pain, inability to lift the arm, difficulty in simple movements such as combing the hair, grasping the back, dressing and stir-frying, etc. When sleeping at night, if you accidentally press the affected side, you will wake up in pain and even have difficulty sleeping all night. These conditions may include a history of acute shoulder sprains and contusions, or a history of chronic injury from regular fatigue, or a history of shoulder and arm labor and low activity, underdeveloped shoulder and arm muscles, poor blood circulation, age, poor metabolism, degenerative changes in bone and muscle, ligaments, etc. In addition, it is more likely to lead to frozen shoulder. Occupational shoulder pain mostly has bilateral shoulder pain, which may be caused by poor posture at work or by special external factors that cause tight bouncing of the shoulder muscles, resulting in neck pain or affected activities. For example, if you have to work with your arms at a higher height than your shoulders, such as painters, welders, grape pickers, building cleaners, etc., working for a long time will often cause shoulder tendonitis or myelitis; forward bending of the neck at work will also cause neck and shoulder pain. Take rest and move your muscles and bones frequently to avoid fixing a posture for a long time. In terms of treatment, we can take oral medication to relax the tendons and activate the blood, physiotherapy and local nerve block at the shoulder pain point.
