Caries close to the nerve is first selected for indirect pulp capping to protect the nerve. After two weeks of observation, if the tooth does not show any pain, there is no need to kill the nerve; if the tooth shows pain, then the nerve needs to be killed. Indirect pulp capping is the use of an indirect pulp capping agent, such as calcium hydroxide, placed in a cavity close to the nerve to calm the nerve, prevent infection and inflammation, and keep the nerve functioning normally. 1. The decayed tissue is removed, the pulp is indirectly capped, and the tooth is permanently filled two weeks after the procedure if there is no pain. 2. If the tooth is in pain, the pulp capping agent and filling material need to be removed and the tooth will be treated with root canal therapy. It is best to go to the hospital in time when the caries is close to the nerve, and according to the examination results, choose indirect pulp capping or remove the nerve, in order to help the tooth return to normal function.
